In a tragic incident, a Barbados-flagged commercial ship faced a Houthi missile strike while crossing the Gulf of Aden, resulting in three crew members killed and four injured.

The US Central Command revealed that an anti-ship ballistic missile, launched from Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, targeted the vessel ‘True Confidence.’ The multinational crew of 20 sailors, including individuals from India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Nepal, witnessed three fatalities, with at least four injuries reported, three in critical condition.

Most crew members escaped using lifeboats as the ship faced potential sinking. In response, US and British Navy forces rushed to the scene. Retaliatory airstrikes on Hodeidah airport were launched, but there’s no immediate coalition comment on the alleged attack.
